Waves of Faith Newcomers 101 – Connecting
To understand something, it helps to see the big picture like when looking locking eyes with the picture of a puzzle that you are working on. Then to break it down is to see how all the small pieces fit together to make up the big picture. This Newcomers class is designed to give you an overview of what Waves of Faith is all about. We also take the time to zoom in on the nuts and bolts of what makes Waves of Faith work the way it does. There are simple purposes, processes, and plans that move Waves of Faith as a community of faith set on leaning how to ride God¹s waves for his will in our lives. In this class you will learn what is expected of a follower of Christ who becomes part of the Waves of Faith family.
201 – Growing
Just how do you grow your relationship with God once making a decision to follow him? Most tend to focus on the external when in fact it works from the inside out. In this class, you begin to identify and understand 4 basic keys to experiencing spiritual maturity with God. You will discover that becoming like Christ is a process of learning 1) how to listen to God, especially through his Word, 2) how to talk with God, prayer, 3) how to give what you value as God's, money and 4) how to grow with others through relationships, fellowship. This is an introductory class on learning how to develop these basic habits that will deeper your walk with God.
301 – Serving
Everybody is expected to get in the game at Waves of Faith because God has not called us to be spectators but rather game players. The key though is to discover what you are good at. Some will catch, some will run, others will kick or punt but not everyone is good at the same thing. We are all good at something, but what? This class is designed to help you to begin to uncover what may be your cup of tea, you niche, your area of service. One thing is certain, you will find it personally fulfilling while benefiting others.
401 – Sharing
Ever felt like you could never connect with a friend much less the world to make a difference? This class is designed to help you learn how to share from your faith journey with others. God can use anybody who is willing to learn how to be his hands, feet, and mouth. We learn how to make a difference one person at a time.
One of the best ways to grow in your faith is to become a part of a small group. In these small gender specific groups you learn as much about yourself as you do of others. It¹s an opportunity to journey together with a few other folks. You will learn what it means to be a follower of Christ as well as how to help others become followers of Christ. The journey takes about a year to complete but is broken up into four 12 week experiences. The studies are entitled 1) Discovering your Life Mission, 2) Becoming an Authentic Disciple, 3) Living Life Intentionally, and 4) Finding your place in a Multiplying Movement. This discipling group study is the best way to get connected with a supportive and encouraging small group of gals or guys.
